Exhibition #71 – Aimo Katajamäki
ATELJEE AIMO
4.2.–13.3.2021
Artist, illustrator and graphic designer Aimo Katajamäki moves his world two blocks away from his studio, and into Lokal. The exhibition Ateljee Aimo explores his artistic process; tickets and tags, wood, stone, and all sorts of useful and useless objects as well as treasures from his archives. Katajamäki’s works are best known for their deep and dark humour, as well as their aesthetic which references pop culture, the animal world and the afterlife. The humane and fragile skull figures are a continuation of the 15th century vanitas theme, reminding of the importance of every moment and the transience of life.
