Institut finlandais: Between Earth and Sky
Curated by Katja Hagelstam of Lokal Gallery, the collection Between Earth and Sky showcases the work of eleven contemporary designers through ceramic, wood and glass pieces, as well as sustainable household linen by Lapuan Kankurit.
Located in the Punavuori district in the heart of Helsinki, Lokal Gallery merges art, craft and sustainability. Each piece reflects the harmony of nature in its essence, material and design, such as Tiia Anttila’s delicious ceramic fruits, Julia Töyrylä’s delicate glass spoons or Lapuan Kankurit & minä perhonen’s warm Metsälampi merino wool blanket, which evokes the moving surface of a forest pond.
As part of Institut finlandais’ autumn programme Between Earth and Sky, this collection is on display and on sale until 21 December 2024, in parallel with the Beyond the Horizon exhibition.

Lokal Bazar brings together a selection of artists’ works on paper, paintings, sculptures, wall reliefs, textile works and photographs; a hybrid of a market and an exhibition of accessible art, with all pieces priced under 500 euros.
