Kira Catani

Kira Catani (b. 1993) is a ceramics artist based in Helsinki. She studied ceramics in Finland and later in England, where her education emphasized hands-on practice. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for materials and strengthened her focus on throwing, which remains central to her work. Her hand-thrown pieces are often altered through carving or decorating. She places great importance on craftsmanship and detail, dedicating significant time to perfecting the glaze for each piece. Her goal is to create ceramics that are both functional and visually engaging, offering meaning to those who use them.
